Charlton Heston went to on to play on another stage, for another audience beyond the one here on earth. I haven't seen too many of his movies, and I didn't agree with his politics, but he was a classy guy. I heard him speak in public once, at a showing of The Ten Commandments at the Egyptian Theater in LA. He told one anecdote about Ben-Hur that I remember. While he was training for the chariot race, he told the trainer that he wanted to be able to drive the chariot well enough to be able to win the race.
The trainer told him, "Chuck, you're going to win the race."
He will be missed.
