Quote of the day (from yesterday)

"It's sad what's happened to the Republicans. They used to be the party of the big tent; now they're the party of the sideshow attraction, a socially awkward group of mostly white people who speak a language only they understand. Like Trekkies, but paranoid."
Bill Maher, in the LA Times. Maher publishes an Op-Ed piece in the LA Times about every six months. They're always good. Love that guy. It's a very good piece, and I could quote more from it, but I will just post one more:

"The thing that you people out of power have to remember is that the people in power are not secretly plotting against you. They don't need to. They already beat you in public."
Except, of course, that Republicans don't think this way because they DID plot in secret, because they knew that what they were doing - warrantless wiretapping, torturing people, abusing the Constitution - were wrong.
