Chantilly lace and a pretty face
50 years ago today was "the day the music died," as Don McLean put it in American Pie. Three up-and-coming rock and roll musicians, Ritche Valens, Buddy Holly, and The Big Bopper, died in a plane crash. The LA Times has the original news article. My Dad played The Big Bopper for us constantly when we were kids. So, Dad, this one's for you.
